Energy Sector Drive for Growth

This statement coincides with the American oil sector, notwithstanding coping with depressed petroleum rates, has been pushing for entry to additional marine extraction areas. The business's move for greater entry also signifies an attempt to increase jobs and US energy independence.

Historical Restrictions and Ecological Worries

The government government have prohibited marine exploration in the eastern Gulf of Mexico, which extends from Florida beaches to sections of the state of Alabama, since the mid-1990s. The prohibition stemmed from fears about possible petroleum leaks.

While California does have some ocean-based petroleum activities, there have not been new leases in national waters for nearly three decades.
