Trump Says Constructing a DC Monumental Arch Is Domestic Policy Chief's 'Number One Priority'.
Amid worries over a deepening cost-of-living issue, Donald Trump revealed that his domestic policy chief is chiefly concentrating on constructing a monumental arch for Washington DC.

During remarks at a White House holiday party, the president praised Vince Haley, his ex-advisor who now leads the White House Domestic Policy Council.
“Vince is remarkable on policy,” Trump stated. “And we have a policy initiative that’s going to be spectacular unfolding.”
The nature of that policy initiative might certainly be tough to fathom for citizens having difficulty to manage financially.
Details of the 'Arch' Project
“I put Vince to oversee the victory arch,” Trump noted, using the French word for arch. “We are erecting an arc, like the Arc de Triumph,” the president added, mixing English and French.
“We’re building it by the Arlington Bridge, the national cemetery, facing the Lincoln Memorial. You could say, Jefferson, Washington, everything, ‘cause they’re all in that area,” Trump went on, mentioning famous monuments in the capital city.
“And it’s something that is so special. It will be like the one in Paris,” Trump said.
He added that the new arch will be much better than the original one commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte. “It outdoes it. Blows it away in every way.”
Chief's Reported Reaction
As per the president, his domestic policy chief was awestruck by a design of the triumphal arch the first time he saw it.
“Vince came in one day and his eyes were apparently beaming,” the president recounted. “In fact, he couldn’t believe how magnificent it was. He looked at it, and he wanted to make it happen,” Trump said.
Addressing Haley in person, the president stated, “That is your number one task. Nothing that can compare to that.”
Context of Economic Concerns
This priority comes as many Americans are reportedly coping with higher prices as a result of various policy decisions, including import taxes on foreign products.
